Sentinel's President, Michael Streicker, was recently interviewed by the Property Council of Australia for its Property Australia news publication.

Mr. Streicker shared his insights on how the Build to Rent sector is evolving in Australia, along with Sentinel's expansion in the market with its recent launch of Kinleaf, a dedicated property management brand for its Build to Rent apartment communities throughout Australia.

"From our perspective, it is really exciting to see everything going on in Australia. We think there’s an enormous opportunity for the property type," says Mr. Streicker.

The first phase of Sentinel’s Element 27 apartment community in Subiaco (Perth), WA

Sentinel began reviewing Build to Rent opportunities in Australia in 2012, establishing our Australian affiliate Sentinel Fund Manager Australia. Since that time, we have successfully completed and opened the first two phases of our Element 27 project in Subiaco (Perth), Western Australia. The first phase of Element 27 has been operational and tenanted since early 2019 – making it Australia's first institutional Build to Rent community – and both phases are fully leased. Sentinel's second Build to Rent project, The Briscoe, is located at 151 Hawke Street in West Melbourne and is due to open in the second half of 2023. Sentinel has also acquired sites for development in Scarborough (Perth), Western Australia; Robina (Gold Coast) in Queensland and Bowden (Adelaide), South Australia. Sentinel currently has more than 1,600 Build to Rent units under various stages of development and operation throughout Australia.
